Wajahat Durani, Sajad Parray retain EJAC top positions | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 20 (KNO): Wajahat Hussain Durani and Sajad Ahmad Parray on Tuesday were re-elected as the State President and State General Secretary of the Jammu & Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), respectively. The announcement according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) was made by the Election Commission of EJAC during a press conference held at Kashmir PHE Joint Employees Association Central Office, Exchange Road, Lal Chowk. The election commissioner said the elections were conducted in accordance with the Trade Union Constitution, which mandates polls every three years. Durani in his address reiterated the committee’s core demands, including regularisation of employees, restoration of the old pension scheme and protection of trade union rights. “This is our national and democratic right. Those who have served the government for over three decades deserve justice,” Durani said, urging employees to remain united. The EJAC, comprising various employees’ associations, represents a major section of government workers across Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)
